The Sprudelhof

Conceptual design and creation of a corporate design for the Sprudelhof. The city of Bad Nauheim owes the existence of its unique Art Nouveau ensemble to the Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig von Hessen (1868-1937). The baths, spas and gastronomic facilities were built under the direction of Wilhelm Jost At the beginning of the 20th century.

Famous artists from the artist's colony in Darmstadt such as Heinrich Jobst, Julius Scharvogel, Wilhelm Kleukens and Albin Müller took part in the construction. Between 1905 and 1912 six bath houses plus waiting rooms were created, comprising 264 spa baths and two administrative buildings along with an array of archetypal fountains, two of which still remain. With these richly decorated bath houses, the abundant ornaments in the waiting rooms and the richly adorned yards the Sprudelhof is one of the most impressive testaments to German Art Nouveau.
